What is an appeal?

The School Standards and Framework Act 1998 gives parents the right of appeal against any decision affecting their child. If you have been refused a place for your child at your preferred school, you are entitled to attend an appeal hearing in front of an Independent Appeal Panel. You can only appeal for schools that you have been refused for.

How to appeal

Complete the online appeal form and set out as many reasons as you can for wanting a place at your preferred school. Try to explain your reasons as fully as possible and attach copies of any relevant evidence that supports your appeal. Find out more about the appeal process.
